Decor Sounds 1.0.2

CHOOSE WOW SOUNDS BY ID
In any Choose sound window, search by name or numeric ID. Native sound rows
show their FileDataID or SoundKit ID. To use an ID that is not listed, select
the matching ID type below the list, enter the number, and click Find / select
ID (or press Enter). This saves the reference in your Library. Use Preview
selected to check that WoW can play it, then Choose sound to assign it.
FileDataIDs and SoundKit IDs are separate types; use the type from your source.
An accepted number does not guarantee that the audio exists in your client.

NATIVE BLUEPRINT SOUNDS
Saving or updating a build in Layout mode now rebuilds the sound badges on the
next frame without requiring /reload. Native room-pin references survive closing
the sound panel, and the Builds window stays open during the refresh.
Sound badges now open automatically when entering WoW's Layout mode at home.
Badges display assigned sound names and refresh as the active setup changes.
Blueprint details read the audio engine's playback source, including installed
house packs. The room arrows browse all configured sound rooms even when their
native pins are unavailable. Pin/room match counts appear in the panel and in
/dsounds report; a missing match may also mean the room is on another floor.
The details panel identifies the active build. New empty builds display no
assigned sounds until sounds are added. Creating a new empty build or saving
a new build does not add a named recovery copy. Undo reset remains available.
Open with /dsounds blueprint, House overview > Blueprint sounds, or the
schematic's Blueprint view button while inside your own house. This opens
WoW's live house Layout editor with sound badges on its actual room pins.
Use WoW's floor selector and click a sound badge or select a room to inspect
its backgrounds, effect and zones in the movable Blueprint sounds panel.
Closing that panel removes the sound badges. WoW's layout editing controls
remain active. Zone radii/heights are listed; coverage circles are not drawn.
This integration still requires an in-game visual and interaction check.

HOUSE SOUND MAP (MANUAL SCHEMATIC)
Open with /dsounds map.
Select an unplaced room, enter a floor number, and click Place. Floor 0 is
ground level; negative numbers are basements. Drag room cards to arrange your
house schematic. Use the floor arrows to switch floors and scroll for space.
Click a room to see its house/room backgrounds, effect and paged sound zones.
Hover a zone for radius, playback and height details; enter its room to edit.
The current room has a green border; the selected room has a gold border.
Visit and name rooms to discover them. Unverified rooms are labelled and may
belong to another house. Known rooms from other houses are filtered out.
This is a manually arranged schematic, not an imported blueprint or a map to
scale. Moving cards does not change sound-zone positions or playback coverage.
Layout is saved locally and included when saving/updating local named builds.
It is preserved by recovery and room relinking. Cloud exports do not carry it.
Live in-game appearance and drag interaction still require verification.

Decor Sounds 1.0.1
New empty build now suggests an unused name even when a saved build is selected.
Saved/loaded local builds take priority over installed packs in your own house.
An empty local build stays silent. Installed packs still play when visiting.
The reusable sound library and previous builds are retained. Studio 1.0.0 works
with this addon update; no Studio or cloud update is required for this fix.

Decor Sounds 1.0.0
Save or Update your named build, then Export selected build. Interior and outdoor
sections travel together in one Studio pack or cloud link. Studio and the cloud
server must also be updated to 1.0.0 for complete-house sharing.
Builds now separates recovery copies from the normal list. House overview searches
rooms, backgrounds, effects and zones, with missing-sound flags and edit buttons.
Visitors: install in Studio, get missing sounds, restart WoW, then /dsounds setup.
Random variations, new cooldown controls and drawn zone boundaries are deferred.

Historical release notes

SHARING WITH STUDIO 0.7.16
Builds > select your saved build > Export selected build. Copy the code.
In Studio, open Share a build, paste it, then Create pack or Publish to cloud.
Use Update selected before exporting recent edits. Interior and outdoor
sections have separate codes; share each section you want visitors to hear.

Decor Sounds 0.7.16 beta - Complete indoor/outdoor saved-build exports

Fixes selected-build sharing for builds containing both indoor and outdoor
settings. Builds > select your build > Share selected build opens the interior
export first. Copy it, then use Show Outdoor for the separate outdoor export.
Each section displays its name, section number and room/effect/zone counts.
Both exports use the existing schema-4 format supported by Studio.

All interior assignments come directly from the selected saved snapshot. No
room visits or room-to-house mapping are required. Outdoor zones are grouped
by their exact plot key. Each section includes its own background. Multiple
outdoor plots can be cycled through. Builds with ambiguous multiple interior
house IDs produce an error rather than guessing the destination.

Use Update selected before sharing if you want to include current edits.
Share current house retains the old visited-room filtering. For the complete
saved setup use Share selected build. Publish interior and outdoor separately.

Tested against the supplied saved-variable data: all 42 zones accounted for
exactly once (40 interior, 2 outdoor), plus 12 room assignments, 3 room effects
and both backgrounds. Checked section-button switching, JSON serialization,
copy isolation and compilation of all shipped Lua modules. Live WoW/Studio
publishing remains to be verified. Uploaded user data is not bundled.

Includes New empty build; no Musician/Total RP3 integration. No Studio update.
Install by merging DecorSounds into Interface/AddOns with WoW closed. Preserve
DecorSoundsLibrary, Sounds/User and WTF saved settings.

Decor Sounds 0.7.15 beta - Share selected build

Builds now has a Share selected build button. Select your saved setup in the
list, then click Share selected build. If you have made changes, click Update
selected first. The export uses the saved build, not your current assignments.

Includes all saved room backgrounds, room effects and zones for that interior,
without requiring a room-by-room visit or filtering by old room-house mappings.
Preserves schedules, zone coordinates, height limits and background mute flags.
Uses the saved build name, house identifier and house background. Shows exported
room-background, room-effect and zone counts before copying.

Share current house remains available and is labelled as a visited-room-filtered
export. Selected-build export does not load or modify the selected build.

The existing visitor-pack format represents one interior OR one outdoor plot.
Mixed-scope builds are rejected with an explanation rather than silently trimmed.
A build saved without a house identifier must be loaded and updated in its house.
Personal game-audio policies, recovery drafts and library files are not published.
No Studio update is required for the existing schema-4 export format.

Includes New empty build from 0.7.14. No Musician or Total RP3 integration.

Validation: all shipped Lua files compile with Lua 5.1. Tests cover missing/stale
room mappings, complete saved assignments, schedules/heights, copy isolation,
saved-versus-active data, scope errors, JSON serialization and export counts.
Live UI and cloud publishing still need an in-game/end-to-end check.

INSTALL: Exit WoW and merge DecorSounds into Interface/AddOns, replacing matching
files. Keep DecorSoundsLibrary, Sounds/User and your WTF saved settings.

PREVIOUS RELEASES

Decor Sounds 0.7.14 beta — New empty build

- Added New empty build to the Builds tab. Enter a new name in Build name,
click New empty build and confirm.
- Clears active room backgrounds/effects, house and outdoor backgrounds, zones,
room names and house/room game-audio policies. Quiet house is switched off and
any game-audio settings muted by Decor Sounds are restored.
- Saves the previous setup as a named recovery build before resetting, including
unfinished room/background/zone form drafts. Existing builds are preserved.
- Undo load / reset / relink can immediately restore the preceding setup.
The named recovery build remains available after subsequent edits or reloads.
- Shared sound library, favourites, personal volume settings and WoW house/decor
remain untouched. No Studio update or audio reprocessing is required.
- Build loading restores saved room ownership mappings when available and clears
unrelated form drafts. Recovery builds restore their saved form drafts.
- Empty/duplicate names are rejected before modifying any settings.
- Based on 0.7.12. Discarded 0.7.13 Musician/Total RP3 integration is not included.

Multiple houses: save each sound setup as a build and load it manually when
switching houses. This release does not automatically select builds by house.
A new empty build clears ALL active sound assignments, not only the current room
or property. Your previous assignments remain in the recovery build.

Validation: Lua 5.1 full-addon mock tests passed for confirmation, invalid names,
empty reset, recovery, undo, unfinished drafts, library/build preservation and
older snapshots. The new button still needs an in-game visual check.

INSTALL
Exit WoW. Merge the DecorSounds folder into Interface/AddOns and replace matching
files. Keep DecorSoundsLibrary, Sounds/User and your WTF saved settings.

Decor Sounds 0.7.12 beta — Floating volume control

- Draggable in-game panel with mute and 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% prepared-audio levels.
- Panel position, lock, visibility, mute and selected level are saved.
- Automatically visible in house interiors and on housing plots.
- /dsounds volume toggles visibility. X hides the panel; Lock prevents dragging.
- Mute stops all Decor Sounds playback, including its WoW sound preview.
- Volume buttons select Studio-prepared quieter files. Unprepared and built-in
WoW sounds remain at their existing volume; the panel identifies active fallbacks.
- Switching versions restarts loops. One-shot effects are not replayed by a volume change.
- No changes to WoW Master, Music or other audio preferences.
- Outdoor support from 0.7.11 remains included.

SETUP
Install Studio 0.7.11, open your library, and click Prepare in-game volume.
FFmpeg is required in Studio Settings. Preparation adds quieter copies and uses
extra disk space; it does not modify originals. Restart WoW after preparation.
Once enabled, Studio prepares newly imported and downloaded pack recordings too.
Friends prepare their own local copies; cloud exports retain original references.

Local Lua/UI and audio conversion tests passed; verify the panel in-game.

OUTDOOR SOUNDS - 0.7.11 beta

Stand outdoors on your own housing plot. Open Rooms & backgrounds and use
OUTDOOR BACKGROUND > Choose sound > Save sound. Optional outdoor override and
effect settings are available beneath it. Indoor backgrounds stay separate.

Open Sound zones and click New zone. Choose a sound, set the radius and playback
mode, then Add zone at my position. Move to a new spot to add another zone.
Layer/replace, background muting and server-time schedules work outdoors too.
Outdoor zones are horizontal; the height control is disabled until usable
vertical coordinates can be confirmed. Playback stops at the plot boundary.

Saved builds and recovery drafts include both indoor and outdoor settings.
Share current house while outside exports that plot's outdoor setup. Export
inside for the interior setup. These exports are separate. Recipients need
0.7.11 or later for outdoor playback and a matching installed visitor pack.
Existing schema-4-capable Studio/cloud versions can carry these exports.
Do not run an older Studio's addon repair over this newer addon.

INSTALL
Exit WoW. Copy the DecorSounds folder into _retail_/Interface/AddOns, replacing
its existing files. Keep DecorSoundsLibrary and your WTF/SavedVariables files.
Disable the separate DecorSoundsOutdoorProbe now that testing is complete.

QUICK IN-GAME CHECK
Save an outdoor background and a small zone. Walk out of the zone, off the lot,
onto a neighbour's lot, and back home. Enter your house and confirm your indoor
setup still plays. Reload outdoors and confirm your outdoor settings return.

DECOR SOUNDS — 0.6.5-beta

Give your World of Warcraft home a sound of its own.
Choose house and room backgrounds, add room effects, place sound zones around your decor, and save sound setups for your builds.

GET STARTED
1. Install the DecorSounds folder in your Retail client's Interface/AddOns folder.
2. Enable Decor Sounds, enter your house and type /dsounds.
3. Select a sound in Library and apply it under Rooms & backgrounds.
4. Stand near your decor and create a Sound zone. Choose its radius and playback, then save.
5. Save a named build. Update the selected build after later edits.

COMMANDS
/dsounds — open the add-on
/dsounds builds — saved sound builds
/dsounds share — copy the current house layout for sharing
/dsounds restore — restore saved game audio settings / turn quiet house off

AUDIO
84 bundled recordings with CC0 source records are included; see CREDITS.txt.
Add-on audio uses Master. Game music can remain off. There is no background-dimming option.
Quiet house is optional and restores the game settings it saved when you leave or turn it off.

STUDIO AND SHARING
The Windows desktop companion manages custom audio and cloud houses.
Get the companion and illustrated guide at https://decorsoundstudio.com/
Studio is separate and is not included in this add-on download.
Visitors need their own add-on, installed house settings and local sound files.
Cloud publishing requires eligible Freesound CC0 references imported through Studio. Bundled CC0 sounds are not automatically cloud eligible.

UPDATES AND BACKUPS
Back up Sounds/User and your WoW account's SavedVariables/DecorSounds.lua before updating.
An add-on manager may replace files inside the add-on folder. Keep an external backup of custom audio and packs; use Studio to restore/sync them and repair registration if needed after updating.

BETA
Housing behaviour and visitor matching should be tested in the actual house. Report the add-on version, WoW build, steps and errors; never post tokens or passwords.

STUDIO & HELP
Open Studio & Help at the bottom of the main window, or type /dsounds studio.
Local sound editing is available in your own house. Visiting uses only an explicitly installed pack for that house.

ADD MORE SOUNDS WITH STUDIO
The bundled collection is a starting point. Use the free Windows Studio app to search the Freesound database, preview recordings and import new sounds. Choose Get Studio - add sounds in the banner on any main tab for download and setup instructions.
The add-on plays and places sounds in WoW; Studio manages audio on Windows; the website provides downloads, the guide and cloud houses.
